How and where our food is produced is becoming an increasingly pressing issue. Today, 75% of all food is consumed in cities. By 2030 the population of Stockholm will have grown by over 300 000 residents - that’s the size of Malmö! We need to eat what we grow and grow where we eat! Now’s your chance to get involved, get inspired, share and learn.
Welcome to our Farm-A-Thon - a green hack-lab, where you’ll work in interdisciplinary teams to brainstorm and prototype new innovative solutions for a more resilient urban food system. Focus will be on innovation using hi-tech and low-tech tools in new ways to overcome challenges for people living in Stockholm to get active in how their food is grown.
We want to create an open space for ideas and solutions where technology meets agriculture meets architecture meets Stockholmers! All skills and expertise are valuable to create a truly innovative team! We invite students, researchers and citizens in Stockholm, whether you’re into programming, permaculture, engineering, design, guerilla gardening, architecture, urban planning, or you just want a more sustainable city.
